Your account and login preferences can be managed through Profile Settings.

2.2 Profile and User-Generated Content

Upon registration, we generate a profile that includes details such as your username and city. Your phone number and email address remain private and are not included in public profile data. If you rank on the recycling leaderboard, your name and city may be displayed. The profile also tracks your recycling activity, including the number of electronics recycled, CO₂ saved, coins accumulated, and rewards unlocked. By default, profiles are private and are not searchable by other users.

2.3 Activity Data

We collect data on how you interact with the platform, including browser and device details, log data, and engagement with rewards and gamification features.

3. How We Process Your Information

Lalec processes your personal data to ensure a seamless recycling and rewards experience while maintaining compliance with privacy regulations.

3.1 Legal Basis for Processing Data

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Lalec processes personal data based on different legal grounds depending on the purpose. When you create and manage a Lalec account, we process your personal information because it is contractually necessary to provide our services, such as connecting you to collection centers and tracking recycling activity. Similarly, when you recycle electronics and earn rewards, we process your data under the same contractual necessity to ensure accurate coin allocation and redemption tracking.

For features like the reward system and gamification elements (leaderboards, badges, and challenges), we process data under our legitimate interest to encourage engagement and enhance the user experience. We also rely on legitimate interest for fraud prevention and security measures, such as monitoring suspicious account activity and ensuring the fair use of rewards.

When we send notifications and updates, we do so based on your consent, which you can manage in your Profile Settings. Likewise, if you receive marketing emails or promotional offers, these communications are also based on your explicit opt-in consent, and you can withdraw your consent at any time. Finally, Lalec retains certain data for legal compliance reasons, such as fulfilling regulatory obligations related to tax, fraud prevention, or data protection laws.

3.2 Providing and Improving Our Services

We track your recycling activities to allocate the correct Lalec coin rewards for eligible electronic drop-offs. Profile information does not influence how rewards are displayed. We use feedback to optimize performance, usability, and engagement. Lalec may share data with third-party service providers, such as Amazon Web Services for hosting and Google for search engine optimization. Additionally, when a user redeems a discount reward, Lalec may share the data with the respective brand.

3.3 Processing and Tracking Recycling Activity

When you recycle an electronic item at a partner collection center, we use a unique QR code to register the drop-off. The platform logs the type and quantity of recycled items, calculates coin earnings, and updates environmental impact statistics. This information is stored in your profile for tracking recycling history and transactions.

3.4 Enabling Gamification Features

We analyze your recycling milestones to assign badges, update leaderboard positions, and determine eligibility for rewards-based challenges. The leaderboard is designed to encourage community participation.

3.5 Sending Notifications and Updates

We send notifications regarding recycling confirmations, reward alerts, and leaderboard updates. Engagement reminders may be sent if a user has been inactive for an extended period.

3.6 Analytics and Platform Enhancement

User engagement patterns are tracked to improve platform features. Recycling data is analyzed to optimize the reward catalog and assess collection center performance.

3.7 Security and Fraud Prevention
